Day Four.
Much better today - while the first day of my cycle hits me terribly hard, most months my recovery is super fast, and this month was no exception. Today's practice was Cyndi Lee's intermediate OM Yoga cd, which isn't one I reach for often, but can provide a nice change of pace along with a moderately challenging practice - more than moderate after being so long off the mat, the residual soreness in my shoulders and upper back pulled me out of some poses early. That's always been a challenge, finding ease in poses like downward dog. A few times I've been able to find that magic point of engagement where my legs and core take the pressure off my shoulders, but it's a hard spot to find. Emotionally today was trying, and coming to the mat was quite cleansing. I just need to remember that in the middle of blowups!
