Practice and all is coming -- Sri K. Pattabhi Jois

Last weekend on my wonderful mountain trip, I succeeded to loose all my important stuff (keys, money, mobile phones) in the middle of the mountain. Due to incredible luck it was found by other trekkers and brought back to the nearest mountain hut. Still I had to call a key service to open my door for an awful lot of money... Hopefully tomorrow my stuff will be in my postbox...

And what was the focus of monday´s evening class? Letting go. There are days where the yoga class fits perfect to the course of life - and during long holding poses I let go everything - at least for a few moments....

Sounds amazing!!! I love holding the seated forward fold for long periods...it just feels sooo good as if you are in fact really letting go....I feel like everything is releasing and it's very therapeutic. It's the same with Janu Sirsasana (one leg folded forward bend)...I feel that my back muscles and ribs are releasing....even emotions release sometimes! Yoga is so amazing! I think I will follow your wonderful story and perhaps teach a Letting Go class...it's such a fabulous idea....! Thanks for sharing Silmanja (love your name). Is lyengar the type of Yoga that is ultra precise in alignment? I have never taken a lyengar class...

@lynn: I´m doing kind of Iyengar Yoga with a very creative teacher coming from London. Very often we have a special focus, as you can sometimes read on my pages here. This time the special thing was to hold the asanas for a longer time - I remember especially the camel and a long sitting forward bend - with each breath, letting go more and coming deeper in the asana - also to let go, the own resistance in the body - can you understand what I mean? For the pranayama we did especially exercises with long exhaling with an open mouth....

How was the Yoga class and how did they work with the theme? What kind of Yoga do you practice?
