Well, I am back from my cruise! I can't believe it's been over for a week now! I was able to get one yoga class into my trip! I was hoping for something each day, but there were only 2 options and one was during my dinner time. I think I'm glad it turned out how it did, though; because yoga on the ship may have caused a lot of falling down. The class I attended was on the beach!
We did Ashtangi yoga and this was a first for me. To be honest, I think I would have preferred a more meditative style--particularly in the hot sun. Some of the poses were hard on my low back--particularly the sun salutation and the chair pose. It felt good to stretch, but a lot of the poses weren't stretchy. It was OK, but a little uncomfortable and not really relaxing until the final meditation pose. At some point during meditation, I felt the pain leave my low back. I have no idea what made it stop because even lying on my back was causing some pressure. I was trying to relax my lower lumbar into the ground. I think I may have achieved that and thus alleviated the pain.
I think I definitely want to try the Kundalini workshop in May. I think that would be more relaxing and stretch my muscles more. I'm glad I did the class on the trip, though. It was cool to take class on the beach!
