Yeah Breezy, where are you that it's -8, if not hunkering down in Minnesota?! It's strange, today in St. Paul isn't much warmer, but it doesn't feel as bad. I just didn't go to any classes this weekend, home was much more appealing.

Time flies

Time flies when you're practicing yoga! I can't say I have done it every day. I can say I have made a much more concerted effort than I ever have before. I have meditated all but 2 days and have practiced most days. Many have been 10 minutes - either before meditation to loosen up, or after I teach or take another class, mainly because I'm already there.

I've been doing so much physically and mentally that frankly I'm finding it hard to fit in much more right now. I know yoga helps me and it is… Continue

What day are we on??

Thank goodness I started this on the first otherwise I wouldn't know what day we're on. Oh wait, I don't know what the date is. And I keep forgetting to write "09" on my checks too.

Yesterday (day 12?) I got a little derailed since I was requested to help out at my kids school in the morning which is when I planned to go to the gym and use the space to practice. Then, 5" of snow kept me in the house much of the day. My 2-year-old daughter didn't want to take a nap and made several large messes… Continue

9, 10 and Master Class

Days 9 and 10 were filled with a bit of fatigue and soreness. Thursday (day 8) was a great day and it totally kicked my butt. Basically 3 hours of strength and cardio - weight lifting and dancing. It was a busy day overall and I do believe I just plain didn't eat enough, or of certain things. By 8 o'clock I was dragging.
Friday and Saturday (9 and 10) were both teaching days so I did move my body. It just wasn't my own practice. My personal practice consisted of the 10 or so minutes of stretchin… Continue

6, 7 and 8

I'm doing great! I can tell because I'm really sore. I figure if I just keep my body moving it won't have any time to get sore, right?
My theme - not resolution - for this year is Personal Power. It's time to up the ante. I need strength. A stronger immune system, stronger stamina, stronger muscles, stronger practice. I need strength. Not only am I committing to WoYo, I am also committing to my meditation practice and my overall physical well being (meaning, other than yoga). So here is a summar… Continue

Getting Energized!

OK, got to keep this momentum going. It's not so much that Jan. 1 was this big date, it's just that I'm feeling good again after being sick for awhile. I quit drinking coffee last month and just find myself kind of dragging. Don't get me wrong, it was relatively easy to quit and I didn't even go through withdrawal, unless you count the wanting to sleep at 7pm for 11 hours. I'm still trying to figure out what my body is or isn't lacking, needs/doesn't need that can help my energy level. One thing… Continue
