I'm a 500 hour certified yoga instructor trained in the Viniyoga lineage by Tracy Weber at Whole Life Yoga Studio. I specialize in teaching you how to empower yourself using yoga tools (including asana, pranayama, meditation, self-study & ritual) enabling You to be the best version of yourself that you can be.
See how Yoga Empowers You!

I practice many times a day whenever I can. I breathe, I practice being aware, being compassionate within & with my body. Living with Multiple Sclerosis provides challenge unique each day- sometimes each moment. What a beautiful opportunity to add my practice to not only my day but my life to bring my whole being into a greater place of balance. I breathe therefore I am.

Thanks for thinking of me. My practice is completely home based. Strange that after 4 years of yoga, classes are suddenly really weird to me. Think it would be easier if I had a 'yoga buddy' to hang out with in a studio, but alas. Life is good and the garden is growing me tons of tomatoes. Glad no zombies like them...:) Always the best to you Suzanne and thanks for the comment.

That's a nice space. I like the art on the walls. Used to live in Portland so made it to Seattle a few times but only hit the tourist traps...it was a million years ago and yoga was not a happening thing back then...:)

Thank you so very much Suzanne - I just love your idea of having students close their eyes and then lift their fingers depending on what level of class they would like that day. GREAT IDEA!!! I will definitely try that! I love this website, it really is nice to connect and learn from other Yogis and Instructors...and about life as well!!! Many thanks and much peace.
Lynn
PS - I luv your funky style! You look awesome!

How weird. I thought you were another Suzann who is on the YJ community. I was checking out something here and stumbled on your videos and said, "That doesn't look like Suzann". I think that's the problem with virtual friendships, everything blends together. Anyway, hope all is well and am enjoying looking at your videos.

You know I just spent some time in a teacher training today that started to address diabetes. I'll definitely let you know about more as I get more info. I think we're just getting into it so purrfect timing!
For now- first and most- Honor your body. You know if you don't have your health... things tend to unravel. So learn in your practice now- to listen to what your body needs ( is your mind- clear, dull- what do you need - *key here is its not always what you want* - energetic or more relaxed...)
Check this post out http://yogaempowered.blogspot.com/2008/11/developing-your-practice-ask-yourself.html

Learning to accept my body even when I don't like what its saying has been a huge lesson from yoga for me. Somehow breathing & moving in a meditative way has brought me more compassion for my body & everything else. It empowers me! Body, Mind and Spirit- I love sharing! Thank YOU!!!

Somedays you may need a relaxing, calming, centering practice- why then- do an energizing practice. Listen and practice for YOUR needs. Life changes each day- let your practice adjust & change with YOU!

Hi Suzanne, I have a chronic illness too - type I diabetes. Any thoughts on particularly useful yoga asanas/practices? I think your vision for yoga for chronic illness is outstanding.
