It's hard to beat CorePower for its convenience -- multiple locations and LOTS of classes. Plus, they offer different kinds of heated yoga, not just the strictly defined Hot Yoga. My fave is their c2 open power.

Hi Michelle! Nice to see another TwinCitian on the board. Do you do most of your classes at One-Yoga? I've never been there, what kind of things do they offer?

yoga tulum is just two of the words that i would say yes to. i think i will do a little internet search on your area and volunteer works. of course chrissy thinks we should spend more days just the three of us doing some gal yoga somewhere else, where the rest of the family (jamie & kids, chet & kids & cody) hang at the palapa. i'm looking into airfares for march 19-24.

Oh, and Michelle (I finallly figured out how to read the comments; most recent is at the top), you and Cody should totally come down! I'm sure we can find something to do!

Michelle, let me live vicariously and go to that studio over by the health food store. classes are so much incredibly easier than on your own. Are you sure you want to do Ashtanga?

Mmmmhhhmmmm.. Tulum is gorgeous! We were supposed to go Sunday but life interferred. Maybe tomorrow... What is yoga tulum?

well day one was a total of 32 minutes, not what i hoped for but a start. i decided not to use the book or the dvd, just what i could remember from the many classes i've had. i also added some things that aren't part of the "normal" series but felt good on my back. well the kids are all home so i must go attend to them!

Hey Del - I encourage you to do any amount of practice and (as you know) listed to your body. I've been amazed at the noticeable changes that practicing with *intent* have made for me. Even when I can't do a pose, doing my best and intending to do what ever part of it I can (and keeping optimistic) has resulted in real changes in flexibility. Have fun!

oh chrissy, this pic of the boys was taken by slade in san diego -- while you and i had a girls day of lunch/walking/shopping.

girls weekend yoga tulum - that all sounds good. maybe cody and i should come down for his spring break? we are trying to find a volunteer project to do in new orleans - but i haven't found the right thing yet. kitty i'm sure you could find lots for us to do. maybe i can convince scott he should come too! i'm still not starting day one yet, the room was too cold. it is 11 degrees here, so i just turned the heat up and am putting my super fancy neck warming wrap thing on. i must be warm to do yoga, otherwise i can't push into a pose.

Hooray, hooray! You are here too! Now you have to start practicing! Kit just sent me cheap airfares to cancun. Maybe we should do a girls yoga retreat in tulum.

Day 15-16-17-18

I have finally (on this last day!) extended my home practice. I didn't use a DVD or book, just what I could remember and what my body felt like doing. For a home practice it was awesome. I still get so much more out the studio classes.

My February intention is as follows: Min. of 10 min daily practice - I see this as a first thing out of bed thing. Then I would like to make a promise to go to 3 yoga classes a week and 1 meditation class a week - I bought the unlimited pass, so why not? With my… Continue

Day 14 - distracted

I guess I have been having a hard time "letting go" in my practice. I have Obama on the mind. I'm in too many volunteer groups but have really enjoyed what "down time" I can give myself to honor doing some yoga. I'm still working on my Feb goals. I guess it is better to think of it as monthly - though I had thought of doing 31 days from starting on 1/14. But I guess I need to adjust. We had a warm day up here - the highest I saw today was 45 - but maybe it was warmer? It is supposed to fall back… Continue

Days 11-12-13

So, ladies holiday??? Does everyone suspend practice for this monthly event? I sort of did, but my body really wanted to be stretched in the dog and child's pose, I also needed to do some triangle pose too. I say I didn't practice, but really I guess I did. But it was more like a few minutes many many times during those few days. I also was craving more cardio work too. Now I feel ready to do a long "normal" practice today. But DH is off today for an international trip and we are having "family… Continue

Day 10

when i have a crazy busy day it makes me feel really guilty to not fit yoga in. tonight i did about 15 min. i just did some of my favorites - well, not really favorites, but just what i could remember without getting the book out. i practiced in a way i would think would not be to my liking. i put headphones on and watched/listened to a movie. i just didn't want to hear the kids getting ready for bed (with Slade's help). it worked out pretty well. it felt like a different kind of practice - it w… Continue

Day 9 - lame practice at home

I had too much going on yesterday and was only able to squeeze out a 30 minute practice at home. I was so not into it. It was a forced practice and I think only gave me more guilt about not getting a better practice in. I need to spend some time setting up a better space for a practice and I realized yesterday that I would prefer to have music for my home practice, but don't do that. So, I guess finding some music too. I did spend a little bit of time before going to bed to practice a couple pos… Continue
