I found that crow really isn't so hard once you realize that all you have to do it shift your weight forward and up. That really was the revelation for me! It's more of a balance pose unless your wrists are weak.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. I thanked my husband for being there and he just said "Where else would I be?" He is truly a blessing in my life. And as I told Tova, my mentor has a big heart - I didn't know how big and I didn't know really how much he truly cared about me and about mentoring me. In that sense it was an eye opener in a good way - to know that someone cares and isn't just doing it because it's part of their job or they're being paid extra. I never knew.

Looks like we're in this weather together. Nova Scotia has been cold and snowy all December. Your 3 season yoga space sounds fabulous. I practice in my bedroom which I keep as free from excess furniture, knickknacks and distractions as possible.

You have a wonderful blog. I especially appreciated your use of a pyramid as a visual blueprint of your goals/intentions. If you don't mind, I would like to borrow that concept in thinking about my own intentions/goals. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Psycotherapy And Drugs For Health Nuts

You gotta love it. The pharmaceutical companies have been creating new diseases for quite some time now in order to peddle all the drugs they invent to bilk us of all our money and make us a life time user.
But this is going over the edge. I don’t even know if it is the pharmaceutical companies (or their cohorts the corrupt food and medical industries) that are involved here, but it sure smells funny.

The following is a description of Orthorexia Nervosa a new “disease” relating to those of us w… Continue

Contentment, Laziness or Age???

My daily yoga and meditation practice has taken me to new levels of contentment and tranquility. Or is it something else?

This contentment has overlapped into many areas of my life. Here are a few good examples that come to mind.

I am no longer easily provoked. Or should I say, when I am provoked, I am not as likely to react in a negative way. I look inside and see my anger or my judgment and more often than not I choose to be silent. I don’t have to be right, I don’t have to have my say. I fi… Continue

Yoga On the Road

As much as I love New England and think it is one of the prettiest places on earth, it’s not like me to stay put here for the whole winter. And this year, when I was stuck here…of all times…it was the year that nature provided us with one of the snowiest, coldest and wackiest winters in decades.

So, just when I really, really wanted and needed to get away from this endless winter, circumstances made it impossible for me to leave.

But now, finally I can get out my traveling shoes and pack my ba… Continue

Yoga and Detox Cleansing

I am doing a cleansing fast right now and have written a few blogposts about fasting. I also posted what the experts have to say about yoga's amazing effects on our bodies everytime time we practice and why they recommend that we practice yoga every day, and especially during any type of cleansing fast. You can read more about it here

Experiencing the Value of Yoga

“Words fail to convey the total value of yoga. It has to be experienced” BKS Iyengar

Practicing yoga with my husband since January (the beginning of World Yoga Practice Month ) has been both a joy and a challenge.

It has been a joy because I love my yoga practice and have wanted my husband to practice with me for some time now. The challenge comes in when I am trying to keep the practice interesting enough for him to keep coming to the mat everyday.

He is an avid exerciser and a runne… Continue
