hm... I still don't know if I can come or not... it all depends on what dates y'all choose. But it would be fun to let loose and have some vino! When in SD with Julie and Okie, this is almost always followed by "tipsy"asana in jeans.

Yogi, Interrupted

The past month was a spotty on for me for yogic quality. At the beginning, I'd just recetly returned from my restful Encinitas vacation, which was a continuation of January's month of practice (see this website!). The intensity of the yogasana during the first two months of the year brought much pleasantness. March started nicely but disruptions broke my tempo and I come to this last day of the month feeling a lot of discomfort.

The present WoYoPracMo assignment is to pick a Pose of Revilement… Continue

Deepening the Practice Through Breathing

I was too busy during the first two-thirds of this month to really figure out how to "deepen my practice." After visiting Encinitas and learning some pranayama with Sequoia and Tim I now know what to do. I have ten days remaining to the month and I think it's time enough to help me get started incorporating pranayama practice into my daily routine. I am new to the exercises so I'll start out lightly. I don't know the names of the three particular pranayamas that I'm thinking of so I'll post them… Continue

Thursday/Friday

It was a hard leap but I made Thursday's practice an experimental shavasana session. I sat for about 20 inutes first, because it seemed like the thing to do. Then I laid down for 70 minutes. I have to say, shavasana becomes an enterprise all its own when I spend so much time at it. 30 minutes is my usual max at AYS, though 20 minutes is more common for me.

The hardest part of the whole thing was convincing myself that I can lay down and go straight to work without doing the usual serie

One... More... Day

I have only one more day to go to complete WoYoPracJan but I think I'll delay my much needed break until Saturday. As jangly as I feel, I'm making serious headway and it's all because I've kept at the daily pace.

I stopped my practice after baddha konasana today without doing the finishers. I did absolutely no wind-downs or inversions but I had a lengthy savasana instead. My hips feel pretty well buzzed from all the recent work. The feeling is neither pleasant nor unpleasant during my

One For The Gipper

Great practice today. Simply great. I realize now, by keeping track of my daily practice through WoYoPracMo, that I only have a few 'great' practices per month. I have to think this through and figure out how I might extend these experiences through more days.

I love these practices when, even though nothing is quite perfect, everything goes well and I feel well beyond where I was before.
