Oh, and my dog loves my mat, too. I have the best DOGA pics because of that!
Wow, I can only hope to "get better at" yoga so that one day I can actually move on to Ashtanga.. not quite there yet ;)
But I am spoiled by having friends that I regularly practice yoga with (four days a week). My primary practice buddy is going to India for a month this spring, though, and I am looking to that as my time to really get into the habit of daily solo practice. I intend to get on the mat every morning after meditation.
Teachers say consistent practice is the most important thing and, though I was practicing four days a week prior to WoYoPracMo, I find that my practice is already improved for adding the other three days. Some days, I only do suryanamaskaras plus a few poses (it adds up to about ten minutes). Most people could find ten minutes in their daily routine to practice, and then add longer practices when possible.
Have you found a time that works for you?
The other thing is, because I find it very difficult to practice alone sometimes, I have decided to use music to help me get through it. This helped the other day, so I'll be doing it again.
I hope you find what works for you!
