Before class yesterday, my teacher commented that I was looking slimmer and asked if I'd been dieting. Normally, that would annoy me because I really don't buy into the whole diet culture, but she asked with a slightly worried look and tone that conveyed to me that she doesn't necessarily think dieting is a good thing. I explained that I never diet (I've been advised by my doctor not to because of my ED history, and I try to trust my body and eat intuitively). We agreed that I was probably getting more toned from the yoga and that was what was making me look different. It was nice because she was so supportive, and I so rarely hear people (outside my immediate group of friends) speaking of dieting in anything but approving terms. It was also kind of nice that she noticed I was looking different, because I think my arms at least and possibly the muscles in my trunk are getting more toned, and it's good to have independent confirmation.
